Our SMS program sends after-hours call notifications to on-call staff and patients, including:

  • After-hours call alerts notifying recipients that a call has been received at the practice

This is a care-related notification service only. No marketing or promotional messages are sent. No protected health information (PHI) is included in any text message. Messages contain only general notifications and instructions to check a secure channel for details.

How to Opt In (Consent)

You may consent to receive SMS notifications from East Bay Hand Medical Center through one of the following methods:

  • During an in-person office visit: When you visit our office, you may provide your phone number and agree to receive care-related SMS notifications as part of your intake process.
  • During a phone interaction: When you call our office, you may verbally provide your phone number and consent to receive SMS notifications related to your care.
  • Via this website: By completing the SMS opt-in form below.

By providing your phone number through any of these methods and agreeing to receive text messages, you consent to receive SMS notifications from East Bay Hand Medical Center as described in this program.

Message frequency varies based on after-hours call volume and appointment activity. Typically, you may receive 0 to 5 messages per day. There is no regular or scheduled messaging cadence — messages are sent only when care-related events occur.

Message and data rates may apply. Your mobile carrier's standard messaging and data rates apply to any SMS messages sent or received as part of this program. East Bay Hand Medical Center is not responsible for charges imposed by your carrier.

How to Opt Out

You may opt out of SMS notifications at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive from us. After opting out, you will receive a confirmation message and will no longer receive SMS notifications from this program.

You may also opt out by contacting our office directly at 510-297-0550 during business hours (Monday–Friday, 9 AM – 4 PM) and requesting to be removed from SMS notifications.
