Your First Visit: What to Expect
No referral runaround, no mystery. Here's exactly how your first appointment works — most new patients are seen within one business day.
Check in
Arrive about 10–15 minutes early for brief paperwork. On-site parking is available, and the office is minutes from I-580 and I-880.
Exam & imaging
You'll see Dr. Dashe himself — not a provider you didn't book. Examination and imaging happen in the same visit whenever possible.
Leave with a plan
Conservative options come first. If a procedure is right for you, you'll know exactly why, what it involves, and what recovery looks like.
What to bring
- Photo ID and your insurance card — most major plans and workers' compensation are accepted
- A list of your medications, including supplements and blood thinners
- Any prior imaging or test results for this problem — X-rays, MRI reports, or nerve studies (EMG) if you've had them
- Workers' comp details if applicable — claim number and adjuster contact
- Your questions — write them down; nothing is too small to ask

Common first-visit questions
Do I need a referral?
In most cases you can book directly — call the office and we'll confirm anything your insurance plan requires.
Will I get treatment on the first visit?
Often, yes. Many patients leave their first appointment with treatment already started — a splint fitted, an injection performed, or a procedure scheduled.
How long does the first appointment take?
Plan for the better part of an hour — enough time for a real exam, imaging if needed, and an unhurried conversation about your options.
Ready to be seen?
Same and next-day appointments are held for new patients every day.
